Undercliff Winery was established as a mixed farm in 1846. In 1990, vineyards were planted with semillon and shiraz, varieties having a long successful association with the region. More recently Chardonnay, Chambourcin and Muscat have been planted.
The original house built of timber in 1847 (now operating as a bed and breakfast) has been joined by a small winery carefully designed and constructed to compliment the heritage value of the area.
As well as operating as a winery, the building is a gallery for watercolours by Helen Fitzgerald and oil paintings by local artists.
Undercliff currently produces a traditional basket press shiraz, sparkling shiraz, semillon, sparkling semillon, chardonnay, chambourcin and muscat. A variety of local produce is available.
It is also home to 'Sculpture in the Vineyards', an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition held in November at Undercliff Winery and three other vineyards in the picturesque Wollombi Valley.
