I had a wonderful Deluxe Safari with tour guide Helen. It was fantastic to see the giraffes, the baby zebra and the rhinos close up. Helen was informative, friendly and very good at involving the children through her questions and comments. A most memorable experience!
I just love this place i am always there , i am practicing photography so taking pics of the animals is my favorite . Having a yearly pass is the best can go as many times as i want. I have taken these two pic well visiting . Well worth a visit or 2
Fabulous tour of the African animals. Up close and personal. Able to take wonderful photographs. Very comfortable 20 seat vehicle, however this day we had the vehicle to ourselves with our guide Helen. Helen was very knowledgeable and most pleasant to spend the time with. We feel like we have been to Africa, without leaving home.
What a great place for people of all ages you can get up close to all the animals there were lots of people visiting the day we went however the crowds move quickly, there are lots of activities for the kids the staff are great loved it highly recommended
If you are looking for a zoo full of animal performances and lots of animals, this is not the place. But if you are looking for a nice park to walk and hangout with occasional view of well taken care of animals, this is definitely a match. The safari ride is like a mini Africa Safari. The rides, animals, oasis and landscape are very well planned. My personal favourite for the zoo is 'All About Cats.' They also have lots of nice children playground withinnthe zoo. The food choices however are limited and the vegan options are too natural for me.
Minus the annoying school children, who need to be more kept in line and more adults looking after them rather than having so many running ragged. Other than that the rest of the experience is always pleasant. Love what they do here and the off road safari is totally worth it. Plus it goes to a good cause. Will definitely be back again!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Melbourne. The zoo itself is a beautiful concept, with incredible open plains for most of the animals and spacious enclosures for some of the others. The facilities for humans are also excellent! It is a bit of a trek out there with trains from the CBD not leaving very often and only one bus an hour for most of the day from the Werribee train station to the zoo (we took an uber instead), but it is well worth it. The off-road safari is also 100% worth the extra money, it was so special to get up close to the animals and we also learnt a lot from our excellent tour guide. An experience I will not forgot for a long time.
I took my 13 yo daughter on the sunset safari and we had a fabulous experience. Ours was the first trip of the season so the animals were curious and approached us readily - it was truly magic - our tour guide was informative friendly and very passionate about conservation. The musician / dancers had fabulous rhythm and really encouraged us to move our booties to the music - a lot of fun. The biggest surprise was the African inspired meal which was sensational ! Great value for money and I was pleased that we weren’t in a big group - it was quite intimate, but I do believe that the trips can be quite large.
